For 12 years, we've been on a journey of designing Spirit Shirts, a clothing line of chakra-infused apparel that brings out the best of your energetic centers.
Today, it's an honour to share with you the story of these designs.
The Story of the Spirit Shirts
In 2012, not a year after Spirit Science began, a man named Chris Masterton reached out to Jordan with an inspired idea. He had designed 7 "Spirit Shirts", based on the chakras.
Each one featuring a fresh design, theme, and energy that brought forth the vibrancy of that chakra - reminiscent of what Patchman explained in episode 2 - "When that particular color surrounded me, that chakra itself was opened a lot!" (well, that was the vibe anyway 😁)
We wanted to honour that energy and idea, and take it to new heights, and so over the past 10 years have been nurturing and cultivating a friendship of design and art to attempt to create the greatest Spirit Shirt energy we possibly can!
Every few years we debut another shirt design. It has been a fun adventurous side project alongside Spirit Science, but along the way there have been many ups and downs. We have kept our batches small, only printing 100 or so at a time, working our way up the chakras towards the crown.
This year, we are almost at a crescendo. We have at last reached the Third Eye Chakra!
This is a great experiment for us, and we are honoured that you have joined us on this journey of discovery and exploration.
So much more than 'just a shirt'...
Redesigned from the ground up, this wearable art is custom in every way. We sorted through hundreds of fabrics with an industry design specialist to find an exact perfect material that will last for years. We have also spent countless months in conversation designing the cuts, trims, and folds to work in harmony with each other, so that each time you put it on you feel it was made to fit on your body perfectly!
We have experimented in the past with Bamboo fabric, but have found that after a year or so, this fabric tends to become very stretchy and does not last well over time. This year, we have chosen a new, exceptionally premium cotton blend that will last a really long time, looks amazing, and feels great!
(Genuinely, it does not feel like you expect it to!)
Here in 2024, we are launching this new experience of Spirit Shirts with an updated edition of the Heart, Throat, and introducing the brand new Third-Eye Chakra Spirit Shirt, and we believe when you try yours on, you will change the way you think about your clothes forever!
